Former graduate Jessie Diggins makes large strides in the World Nordic Skiing Competition in Falun, Sweden. Junior Sam Hanson said, "Jessie inspires me because she was put in the same position as everyone who skis at Stillwater. She had the same coaching staff, and used the same skis at the same meets. So it is inspirational because there is no reason that it can't happen again."

Senior Brooks Carroll will be a D2 football athlete in the fall at Bemidji State University. Recently, he made a spring sport switch from baseball to track. Carroll said, “I want to get faster for college football, and I feel like I could help the school out with track, so I just decided to focus on that because I thought that would benefit me more for the future.”

The boys baseball team is heading to Omaha, Nebraska for baseball tryouts this spring. Baseball coach Mike Weiss said, “The trip to Omaha is a great opportunity to practice in warmer weather outside on a turf field so that we can get as much accomplished in a short amount of time as possible. We will be able to have 6 practices in 2 days. It’s going to give us a great opportunity to evaluate kids in a short amount of time. It’s very hard to evaluate kids inside for baseball.”

New Team captains this year are seniors Erin Theits, Leah Kroening and Sarah Neilson. The teams plans for the next year are being changed as the captains see fit. Kroening said, “I have learned leadership and the girls look up to me now and I have to be a role model.”
