Quistmas helping spread Christmas cheer
Christmas, a time of the year where love and cheer is being spread, although one student is spreading that more than usual. Kallie Quist, a Christmas loving senior, has been celebrating “Quistmas” for a few years. This year though, sharing and publicizing it more than ever. Quist has made a twitter account to broadcast her countdown to Christmas. Each day she posts a picture of her and her friends festively dressed up, along with the days until Christmas. Also on the account are other tweets, all revolving around Christmas.
Everyone has their own traditions to celebrating, and Quistmas is Kallie’s. “Quistmas is my way of celebrating Christmas from the first day of December, all the way to the 25th. I love the spirit of the season, and I want other people to get into the Quistmas spirit with me,” Quist said.
“I didn’t want to clutter up people’s feeds with all my Quistmas tweets so I made one they could follow if people wanted to,” Quist said while talking about the account. She said her initial reasoning behind making the account was to get people in the spirit, as well with herself.
Kallie’s friends have been involved with her on Quistmas, making it something really fun for all of them. “The Quistmas photo shoot really got me in the mood for Christmas this year, it was an amazing time. Christmas music was playing the whole time and she also brought Bruegger’s for us,” senior, Natalie Sims, a friend of Quists’ said.
The idea of “Quistmas” has been there for a while, Kallie came up with it in her junior high years. When high school came around she decided to share it with her friends and peers, getting others involved. Sharing her love for the holiday has not been a challenge, since spreading the Christmas spirit seems like a passion for her. “To be honest I don’t know why she loves Christmas so much. I think it might be the atmosphere surrounding Christmas, the music, the lights, and everything in between. That’s the reason I like it,” Sims said.
Right now, the Quistmas account on twitter has over 100 followers. Many students follow this account, favoriting and retweeting the witty countdown tweets. Many tweets include countdown pictures with popular song lyrics or punny jokes. Also, lots of Christmas related retweets. It’s a must follow for anyone who loves Christmas.
One person that follows the account is junior, Kate Snyder. “I follow it because everyday leading up to Christmas Kallie posts a super funny picture with a funny caption telling us how many days are left until Christmas which really gets me hyped. It shows just how much fun Christmas, or should I say Quistmas, is, ” Snyder said.
Quistmas isn’t only for Kallie and her friends, it’s for anyone wanting to get excited for the holidays. Next time you log into twitter, make sure to check out her account to stay updated.

I got the honor of being involved with Kallie’s “Quistmas” fun this year, so I was naturally drawn to this article. It’s a good length and has some great quotes. You did a really nice job of summing everything up, giving enough detail to understand but not so much that it gets old.

Something that caught my attention was the video above the article. The quotes were reasonable as they got the job done. The article was a good length. It was long enough to cover the story, but short enough where it didn’t drone on. Overall it was a pretty good article.
