As President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office close, more of his accomplishments open. Beyond these eventful and impactful first 100 days, is the strong foundation of a stable government being built in this country. Through many significant executive orders being put into effect, President Trump is rebuilding the United States of America to the strong and beautiful country that it once was.
President Trump is making the United States more powerful by implementing stricter border security to patrol the southern border to keep illegal immigrants out. This has made the world perceive the United States as more strong and more fierce.
“President Trump is making the United States a bigger powerhouse by making sure the southern border security is more prominent,” sophomore Garrett Burggraff said.
During the last presidency, the officials assigned to oversee the southern border failed. During his first 100 days, President Trump has done what they failed to do in 4 years: sending 1,500 troops of direct military personnel toward the southern border to fix this national crisis.
The long lasting image of President Trump will be a brilliant and successful one. Alongside President Trump’s image will be a long list of his accomplishments specifically signing a record number of executive orders, which was 142, in his first 100 days such as the executive order signing into law that there are only 2 genders, Establishment of the Religious Liberty Commission and Strengthening and Unleashing America’s Law Enforcement To Pursue Criminals and Protect Innocent Citizens.
Junior Grant Hill said the history books will portray President Trump as great for how many executive orders he has signed in his first 100 days he has had as president.
President Trump will have a controversial, yet prominent page in the history books. Nonetheless, it will be filled with his record number of executive orders signed as president of the United States in his first 100 days.
President Trump has reduced gas prices to be the lowest they have been in over 4 years. This is due to domestic oil production being sustained, meaning president Trump is producing more oil in the United States so we have no need to import foreign oil lowering the cost.
When asked about the economy “gas prices have been the lowest that they have been in 4 years,” sophomore Mason Braun said.
President Trump is focused on the United States economy by implementing tariffs on other countries to boost American made products strengthening the American middle class; it was used heavily in his successful campaign. He often uses the slogan “drill baby drill,” although not President Trump’s slogan, it has his support.
President Trump has taken action on the unfair tariffs on the United States specifically from China. He has done this by putting tariffs on other countries to even the tariff playing field. He did this because he wanted to makes trade fair with China and boost the American middle class at the same time.
“A lot of other countries had unfair tariffs on the United States before President Trump was in office after his re-election. So, we decided to put tariffs on other countries so it would be more fair. This would also push American made products, which is a very big thing for the United States economy,” Braun said.
President Trump has implemented tariffs for the long-run effects, not the short-run. Over time the expansion of United States made products will help the United States economy tremendously by creating more jobs, stronger middle class, boost small and local businesses and increase global influence.
From the confidence the United States has gained from having a productive president like President Trump, we can move forward from the mess of the past 4 years and into the future filled with accomplishments. Voters should keep showing up in future elections, just like in the last presidential one, because they can be the first step in building the better future that has already begun. President Trump has not only made monumental strides in his first 100 days back in office, but has revived the American citizens along with it. President Trump has already and will continue to truly “Make America Great Again”.
