His parents put him in wrestling at three, and it has just gone from there Hunter explained.
Throughout his years of wrestling, he felt supported through it all. He had people there for him during each and every match. His family being there to support him through all.
“I would say my biggest supporters are my family because they are always there for me and win or loss they are always proud,” Hunter said.
Coaches said he brings any and all effort he has to the team. As a person his is selfless and always lets it show. He is strong and athletic which makes him a great wrestler. With this it makes him a tough draw for each opponent he faces.
“Isaac is selfless. He is willing to contribute to the efforts of our team regardless of the circumstances,” coach Kevin LeValley said.
His teammates enjoy wrestling with him. They say he is uplifting and always a happy guy, and he brings good control and positive energy to each match. He contributes to the team and makes sacrifices throughout each season to make sure the team succeeds.
“He’s a really good teammate, because he’s always uplifting, always a happy guy,” freshman Grayson Eggum said.
This year during the season he has had a knee injury. He still showed up to support his teammates during the duels and matches. Not participating was difficult, and Hunter did what he could to make it back for the end of the season.
“It was very sad and hard to watch each deal when I could not wrestle in it,” Hunter said. “I worked out a lot and took great care of my knee so I could come back for the end of the year.”
To continue into his future he has committed to St. John’s where he will continue to wrestle and grow his education.
“I wanted to commit to St. John’s because of the great schooling it offers and because my older brother goes to school there,” Hunter said. He has had his ups and downs throughout each season, and with this in his future he will grow as a wrestler and a person.
