The boys hockey team has had quite a year of hockey as they come to a close with 5 games left. They ended with a record of 11-9 which is better than most other teams. As it stands, Stillwater is ranked 3rd in the league standings. Coach Pete Hamilton helps lead practice and instruct the players throughout the game.

Hamilton helps the players at practice and helps them learn new skills. The team has had a good year, but Hamilton is convinced his team has more to offer.

Something that is crucial to a team’s success is having good teamwork and morale. Junior Logan Bies, a goalie, describes the team as fun and energetic. He talks about how the team strives to be the best they possibly can.

“I’ve been on this team long enough to see that it is fun and energetic. Also, everyone on this team strives to be the best they possibly can in all aspects of life,” Bies said.

Hamilton talks about how the team was good and did well but could do more. Hamilton thought they could have got more work done at practices and focused more on the drills to become better. The drills they did in practice helped to improve their skating and other defensive strategies as well as offensive.

“Our team is good and has been good but nobody is perfect so yes the team could improve by focusing on offensive and defensive drills in practice. Our team has very good morale, everyone is friends,” Hamilton said.

The hockey team is a place for the boys to take out some stress. Something, junior Noah Chlebeck, talks about is how the boys on the team love to win, so when they win, they have much more fun. So with a record of 11-9 they have had lots of fun. He talks about how hockey helps him relieve stress and to have fun.

“The hockey team is full of fun people and they all love hockey just like me. The team is a great way for us to relieve some stress from school and our busy schedule. We have much more fun when we win and our record is 11-9, so we have a lot of fun. The hockey team has been the best part of high school for me,” Chlebeck said.

The boys hockey team has 5 games left in the season and based on the people interviewed, this team has had success. Much of the team’s success has to go to the work these players dedicated during practices. This team has been described as fun and energetic. Hamilton talks about how the team was great, but nobody is perfect.
