As a senior there are so many final responsibilities and pressures to do everything possible before the final senior year of high school is over. Senior Anna Scheel knows those pressures and responsibilities.

Scheel is a student involved in many in and out of school activities. At the moment she is juggling between SPCA (culture awareness group), National Honors Society, being team captain of Relay for Life, a Sunday school teacher at her church Shepherd of the Valley and working with special education students as a free period during her school day.

Scheel has devoted most and almost all of her time to be able to volunteer as much as possible.

“I used to have a job, but I quit so I could volunteer more,” Scheel said. “I like reaching out to people rather than working a job, it is more fun.”

With all this time and hours a day spent in her volunteering, it is hard to manage and put time into each activity she cares so much for, while also needing time for fun, friends and family.

“You don’t make time for everything, I just have to prioritize. I sort of drizzle it down from what’s most important to not as much,” Scheel said. “Friday nights are my only free nights. A lot of my friends do the same thing as me so it can be really fun.”

Out of all the in and out of school activities Scheel volunteers and takes place in Relay for Life is by far her favorite.

“It’s so cool to manage and be a part of it. We raised $5,000 in 3-4 months and it’s so cool to get to meet the people the money’s going to,” Scheel explained. ” My grandma is a part of it and she has been my biggest supporter.”

Scheel’s close friends and seniors Hannah Wilke and Julia Ek are both involved in some of the activities with her. They both notice similar things about Scheel when she volunteers.

“Anna is always really energetic and she cares about all the things she does,” Wilke said. “She is super positive about everything she does and includes everyone. It’s such a big part of her life,” Ek explained.

With all the time and commitment put into the charitable activities there’s simplify not enough hours in the day for Scheel to always fit everything in.

“She gets stressed out her lot and I’m her friends so I know it, but it’s benefiting others so much and that’s all she cares about,” Wilke said.

Scheel truly does so much volunteering for others, but also does if just from loving the feeling of it.

“It’s feels really good, everyone’s grateful just for some of my time and it means the world to everyone else,” Scheel explained.

“Anna is an awesome person and I love how much she shines,” Ek said. Scheel has made a big impact on all the people and friends she volunteers for. Everyone seems to notice how great of a person she truly is. So many people are grateful to have a person like Scheel in their lives that puts them first and works so hard to help out.
