New Avengers achieves box office success
May 15, 2015
Director Joss Whedon returns with the second installment of the Avengers series with Avengers: Age of Ultron. The film hit theaters on Friday, May 1st, 2015 and grossed over $186 million, (slightly less than the first Avengers that grossed $207.4 on the movie’s opening weekend). The success of the film is up there with the likes of The Dark Knight and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2, that are also on the largest opening weekends in box office history.
The film sees returning stars Robert Downy Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), but also features some new faces, with the addition of Paul Bettany (Vision) and Anthony Mackie (Falcon).
“Marvel veterans Downey, Hemsworth, Ruffalo et al. deliver their usual stellar work. ‘Avengers’ newbies Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany (as Jarvis and then some) deliver fine performances,” said movie columnist, Richard Roeper.
The movie captures the action the Avengers movies are known for, but does not skimp out on plot lines or emotion. From the moment the movie starts to the final scene, viewers are sucked into this immense story line that leaves you wanting more.
“It’s not just the fight that’s cool. It’s the reason for it, and the aftermath that is one of the things that drives the story,” Robert Downy Jr said to reporters outside of Comic Con before the release.
Marvel never disappoints with their critically acclaimed movies and TV shows with Avengers: Age of Ultron being one of those great movies. To follow up the release of the new movie, Marvel has Ant Man releasing later this year along with a few standalone movies from the likes of Thor and Captain America before Avengers: Infinity War that will be released in May 2018 (Part 1) and May, 2019 (Part 2).

Great review on the movie Joel. You nailed all the facts and were able to voice an opinion of what others thought of it, while also intertwining your own opinion.

The article is pretty good and I like the quote you got from the actor in the movie! Good details the article is just really all squeezed together. Splitting some of the long paragraphs up would help!
