Xbox One outshines the Playstation 4
December 10, 2013
Nov.15 marks the release of the Playstation 4. Its counterpart, the Xbox One,comes out a week later. Gamers, along with everyone at SAHS, are highly anticipating the release of these two majorly marketed consoles.
Although the two are so similar the Xbox One will cost buyers $400 while the Playstation 4 will cost buyers a slim $350. These new and improved consoles are guaranteed to out-do their prior models, plus the addition of many entertaining features.
Although the Playstation 3 was free to use online with friends and emerge in combat together, the Playstation 4 is requiring gamers to pay for this usage called Playstation Plus. Similar to Xbox’s version called Xbox Live, the two consoles seem to be more and more similar to gamers. Some of the major differences are the controllers, headsets and console design.
Junior Brennan Rosell said, “The Xbox One is my choice!” , he added “The integration they have with Netflix and TV is expected to be very good, me and some of my friends have always enjoyed Xbox more than the PS4.”
Microsoft goes one step further by integrating social media into TV, letting users access live TV with its distinctive program guide that works with any satellite or cable provider. The Xbox One boasts the instant switching feature that allows users to switch between gaming and watching TV through the use of gesture or voice controls.
Junior Joseph Freichels said, “I prefer the Xbox One more than the Playstation 4 because the Xbox controller is better and is easier to hold and use, plus I had an Xbox and its more normal to me.”
Sony integrated a share button to the PS4 controller to elevate social gaming. Gamers will be in a position to capture screenshots and play games as they download. The downloads will not be slowed in any way either.
Junior Connor Anderson chose the Xbox One also, he said ,“It’s more dominant online. If you talk to many gamers they’ll pick the Xbox.” Anderson added, “I have been a fan of the Xbox over any other console starting from the Xbox original.”
The Microsoft device will always be better and is already bound ahead out of the gate. There is something about non-North American design/planning and Windows 8 devices and how the Xbox One implements live TV(with use of cable) is slick and clearly the future. Many gamers are very big fans of the Xbox One because of its internet connection with the Microsoft network. Microsoft seems to be a favorite among many people because it is easy to use and understand. The PS4 is cheaper, and many think that is because of the quality and think that the Xbox One will be more superior.

I must say, the accuracy of this article’s subject matter is questionable, to say the least. Not to put you down, but the PS4 outsold the Xbox One by a rather sizable margin.

This article is nicely layed out and informative to the everyday gamers and to those who don’t game quite as much. I saw a few grammatical errors but other than that, great job.

This was a well layed out article and was interesting to read. I don’t really play video games or know much about which ones are better and why but I could clearly understand this article.

I enjoyed reading this article, I am not very informed about video games and I could still follow what the article was talking about. The only problem I found was a small grammatical error, which can be easily fixed!
