Revolutionizing health drinks
October 24, 2013
In 2011, the smoothie business was revolutionized in Stillwater. Nutrition Revolution was brought to downtown Stillwater by Julie and Patrick Van Buskirk. The business is a healthy smoothie bar and a health club led by a familiar coach.
Nutrition Revolution owned and operated by the Van Buskirk’s was based off their experiences with Herbalife® products. One of Julie’s co-workers encouraged her to try the product and Julie lost 34 pounds. Patrick tried the product after Julie and lost 41 pounds then continued to add on 25 pounds of muscle. They are helping others to achieve their weight-loss goals with a delicious and nutritious snack.
Some students have enjoyed a smoothie from Nutrition Revolution before.
“My mom wanted to try this new place so we went and waited in line and the smoothie was a new, interesting flavor,” explained junior Spencer Tompkins.
Raena Loken, the owner of Nutrition Revolution located in Stillwater, has been the owner since Aug. 1, 2013, and explains her journey of buying the club.
“Nutrition Revolution uses a product called Herbalife, and I was on Herbalife’s products. I graduated from UW-Stout and was a part of the 64 percent of graduates who couldn’t get a job. I moved to back to Minnesota with intentions of starting a health club and ended up working at Nutrition Revolution and then buying the club,” said Loken.
Junior Matt Anderson explained his encounter with Nutrition Revolution.
“I was walking with a few friends, and clearly none of us were looking to lose weight, but we tried it. It was a bit expensive and the line took a while but it was pretty good,” said Anderson.
Loken promotes and encourages the use and consumption of her products without advertisements and personally invites people in.
“We don’t use ads. I go out to the city of Stillwater and face to face invite people into Nutrition Revolution. I will hand out a free coupon for a shake for people to try it and experience it. We offer free snacks, workout and diet challenges, free lunches and shake parties,” explained Loken.
Nutrition Revolution has a fun and relaxed environment to keep you coming back. The atmosphere is enjoyable and the shakes are healthy. The goal of Nutrition Revolution is to keep a healthy and active lifestyle, while achieving the desired fitness goal. Whether it is weight loss, muscle gain or just a snack, Nutrition Revolution is a health club looking out for the interest of its customers.

The article fact-quote structure is good. I think it is good that you interviewed the owner of Nutrition Revolution to get deeper into the topic. The single sentence after the nutgraph could be revised or added to. The article is informative and interesting, it makes me want to go to Nutrition Revolution!
