At first glance, senior Rosie Druffner may look like an average high school student, busy with homework, family and friends. Yet, she has added something highly unexpected to her schedule: starting her own business. Druffner began with a simple idea that has grown into her own brand: RZY Wear.
Druffner, one of the social media Editor-in-Chief’s for the Pony Express, is now the owner and operator of RZY Wear, demonstrating her determination and dedication to entrepreneurship at a young age.
“I am not a big procrastinator, so I think being able to lead students to work hard and become better at doing what they love is very rewarding,” Druffner explained.
RZY Wear is a clothing brand focused on hoodies, mock necks and daily basics, with a minimal, comfortable style. The brand was created with the intent to reflect a clean and modern aesthetic to also provide an easy-to-wear, everyday article of clothing.
“People are charging $130, so I decided to half the price and also I wear sweatshirts all the time. I collect them,” Druffner added.
Social media platforms, influencers and celebrities have a large influence and impact on our population today by spreading new ideas, setting trends, and influencing the choices people make in their daily lives.
“The biggest inspiration to me was influencers on TikTok and some even have their own brand,” Druffner added.
Successful entrepreneurs tend to express very certain personal qualities, such as motivation, responsibility and leadership, that give them a drive to turn an idea into reality.
Senior and RZY Wear ambassador Addison Hurley said that Rosie is very put together, creative and when she puts her mind to something, she can get it done.
In today’s digital world, marketing through social media and brand ambassadors can play a crucial role in beginning a small business. Social media allows people to interact directly with customers, whereas brand ambassadors allow customers to promote the authenticity of the company.
“As a brand ambassador, it is a lot more than just wearing the clothes; you need to keep up with posting, and also making sure what you do does not go against the brand or what it stands for,” senior brand ambassador Bella Ringold said.
Druffner created an influential small business based on core values and her love for sweatshirts, mock necks and aesthetically comfortable clothes for a very affordable price. Right now, RZY Wear has had 50 sales with a hope for many more in the near future. Even the smallest achievements add up to her overall goal.
