Cory Spawn is a broadcast managing editor and is a senior this year and is in his second year on the Pony Express Staff.  While not writing articles or shooting some video for the Pony Express, he can be found playing his viola in Concert Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra, working on the robot for the Robotics Team or recording an event for the Valley Access Channels.

Candidates make numerous posters in a way that students will remember it and vote for the candidate on the day of elections. Some posters are more elaborate and have fun slogans on them

The posters are placed where students will see them each day in the hallways. All of the posters must be approved by administration to be displayed.

Student Council candidates are hanging up posters throughout the school to persuade students to vote on Friday, April 24.

Candidates have their friends and family help make posters and tell people to vote for them. Many of their posters are simple and tell students to vote for them

Orchestra Director Jerry Jones receives a birthday surprise from his Concert Orchestra. The bonds forged in an orchestra are just like those of a family. “I have had the privilege over the last 39 years of working with the most intelligent, motivated segment of the high school population. There’s this mentality that says ‘What we do is important, and we don’t want to screw it up for each other.’ To be able to inspire them, to introduce them first to great orchestral literature. That’s a very unique place to be in the lives of people, making important effects on people’s lives, isn’t that what it’s all about? That’s been my privilege,” said Jones.

Amnesty club members wait at a table in the upper rotunda for SAHS students to ask them questions about human rights or the yearly event. They also give students the opportunity to sign petitions for human rights.

There will only be one big change, there is going to be a remodeling of the front entrance to the school. Through his experience as a full-time firefighter in St Paul, Guy Peterson has learned the importance of teamwork and diversity. “People are thankful that we are there and are grateful that we are there unlike some law enforcement jobs where it is not always a good thing to see them,” said Peterson.
