Boutwells Landing senior living home is not enough for the town of Stillwater, as the city council passes a 60 million dollar project to build a new and improved senior living care facility. "If there is over-crowding and if people need a place to live with the necessary care they need, then I believe it is our cities job to provide that for them," senior and Liberty resident, Maria Vitale said.

St. Croix Cleaners collects coats for charity

St. Croix Cleaners donates unwanted and used coats for families in need of professional looking attire, in order to re-enter the workforce. "Its important to the families who need them, in order for them to look good for when they have an interview or something they should look professional for," said employee Emilee Falch.

It does not take long for St. Croix Cleaners to clean the unwanted jackets. Their generosity is shown through their charitable events. "We're happy to do it," co-owner Polly Nemec said.

Hundreds of coats were donated, ready to be made of good use for needy families. "We're hoping to help as many families as we can," employee Clara Lystrom said.

A small contribution from St. Croix Cleaner's customers, can mean so much to someone who is in need. Jackets and coats are ready to be shipped to Dress For Success, to be given to the families. "It means a lot to the people receving the coats," said co-owner Polly Nemec.

Denise Pontrelli joins the Stillwater community as District 834's new superintendent. "I love Stillwater so far," said Pontrelli. The community is excited to see what she has in store.

The North Face brand seems to be popular among many at SAHS. "Its very warm and cozy in the winter, which is good for us Minnesotans," comments junior Dylan Andres. With cute style and warm fabrics, The North Face hit home for teens dealing with long, cold winters.

With eyes glued to technolody for majority of students day, teens these days seem to miss out on whats really going on around them. Many developing countries are dealing with hunger, poverty, abuse, and government corruption, but yet it seems to go unnoticed. "what am I going to do about that, I'm only 16," adds junior Dylan Andres. He is fooled, kids are the future of society and are the ones who can make a difference.

Shiny on the outside, but dull on the inside is what this apple shows. Many students feel this way about their ow teachers at the high school. "I haven't been able to develop close relationships with my teachers here, than i did at the junior high,""Theres just somany kids they see a day and that makes me feel like its harder for them to want to develop a good relationship with me," comments junior Emma Brandt. Although this could be true, this 'problem' could increase in 2017, when even more students will be learning here, as the freshman move up to the high school.

Students fill the hallways to the max each passing period, almost making it impossible to stop. Soon, freshman will be joining the upperclassmen in these hallways at the high school. Junior Ben O'mally adds, "You get roundhouse a bit going to class and its not ideal, but our school is a good place and we should share it." The freshman will get to experience this for themselves in 2017.

An early morning at SAHS, and everything is very still. Calm cool and collected our landscaping and building may seem on a fall morning, but what will this all look like in the spring? With lots of construction coming up, this all will be torn up. "It is going to be weird coming back and not having this main circle, and not having everything be the way its always been," comments junior Emma Brandt. Construction on the high school starts in mate March, and the senior high as we know it, will never be the same.

A cafeteria that may look large but many student believe otherwise. With freshman coming to the high school in 2017, this lunch room must expand. "Going in and out of the lunch room is basically fighting for survival, i don't even want to picture what it'd be like with another class," adds junior Laura Ilkka. In the planning for arranging a larger cafeteria, three to two classes will be knocked down and will join the cafeteria.
