The ‘Game of Thrones’ episodes air every Sunday at eight p.m. The third episode will air Apr 28. This episode will be the start of the battle that fans have been standing by to watch.

“Game of Thrones” is a mid-evil series about seven powerful kingdoms that fight to be the ultimate ruler. The show first aired April 17, 2011, and HBO aired the first episode of the eighth and final season April 14. The television series airs every night at eight p.m.

This show has action packed battles, dragons and conniving families. “Game of Thrones” has received a tremendous amount of hype. More than 17 million people watched the eighth season premiere.

Currently, “Game of Thrones” has received 132 Emmy nominations and has won 38 of them. This is the most Emmy Awards won than any other television series ever created.

Television Academy said this television series had one several awards for music composition, outstanding supporting actor, outstanding cast and several others.

The two episodes lead up to the battle with the white walkers and keeps people on edge. The newest episode ended with a cliffhanger right before the fight started.

This final season is especially captivating because all of the kingdoms have to come together to fight white walkers, who are essentially zombies that pose a threat to all living things. All of the kingdoms and their rulers fight together except for one, Cersei Lannister, who currently holds the throne to the seven kingdoms and will do anything in her power to stay queen.

TIME Magazine calls the reunion of all the kingdoms, “Tense with history and the clashes of strong personalities. For most of its run, “Game of Thrones” has been defined by bigness and a far-flung story structure. But as it returns for the final hurrah, it feels constrained and claustrophobic, as people hash out their differences and drop revelation bombs within tight shadowy shots.”

Season eight of “Game of Thrones” has three distinct characters that fight for the Iron Throne (rule the seven kingdoms). Daenerys Targaryen is the mother of dragons and is a advocate for anti-slavery. Jon Snow is the rightful heir to the throne and is known for being very honorable. Lastly, there is Cersei Lannister who is the “protector” of the seven kingdoms and is famous for her scheming and gets satisfaction out of others’ misery and pain.

“At the start of season eight, the Night King and his army will be walking into Westeros… but the fight against them isn’t actually going to be the final battle of Game of Thrones season eight. That will be the battle against Cersei – for the Iron Throne itself,” Screenrant said.

There is much controversy on who will be the ultimate ruler of the seven kingdoms. With such an unpredictable last season, no one really knows who will sit on the Iron Throne at the end of the series.

“I think that Cersei is going to win because she is the smartest and she definitely has her path driven out and she likes to deceive people to get where she wants to go,” junior Claire Dicks said.

The first two episodes of the last season have been mostly recap of the last episodes of the previous season. They also have been leading up to the big battle against the White Walkers. Many people rave about the show because of all of the fighting and battles, so the newest season has everyone antsy to watch the fight.

The season has not been very thrilling yet, however, junior Sam Johnson liked the start of the season because he believes, “it’s good to always stay with the storyline and it’s nice to see all the storylines cross.”

He likes the introduction to the fight because it makes the story more interesting and have a deeper meaning.

All of the families have a connection to one another and all come together in the last season. Even in the last season, the characters were all separated, and it is fascinating to see everyone all in one place fighting besides each other and putting their differences aside for a battle.

“My favorite part of the show is watching all of the storylines circulate and then come together in the end when people team up and meet together,” Johnson added.

There are many predictions as how the show will end. In the battle, many foreshadow that important and favorite characters will die. Almost all characters believe this will be the end of mankind and they will all be killed. Due to this, many fans are on the edge of their seats watching these final episodes unwind.

“I think a TV series that’s spanned eight, nine years is an incredibly difficult thing to end,” Kit Harington (Jon Snow) told MTV News. “Not everyone’s going to be happy, you know, and you can’t please everyone.”

In the final episodes on “Game of Thrones”Daenerys has a strong chance of winning because of the generation we live in; many people want a queen to rule to symbolize womens strength and advancement. However, Jon Snow is a favorite character due to his honorable and respectable personality.

It will be a exciting and unpredictable season to watch. This television series contains the perfect amount of action, drama and romance. I recommend watching “Game of Thrones” to anyone who appreciates conspiring families, independent women and bloody, intense battles.
