Boy bands, One of the most beloved things by teenage girls of all time. From the Beatles to One Direction or from the Backstreet Boys to the Jonas brothers, all of these groups have been adored throughout the years. Rock, pop and even some rap groups people just can’t get enough of these guys.

“The Beatles will always be looked upon as one of the greatest groups of all time” said Eric W (class of ’82)

The Beatles first came together in Liverpool England in 1960 and were quickly thought upon as the most influential music group of not only the rock era, but all time. Releasing there first song in 1958, “In spite of all danger” this group quickly blew up and released many more songs after that. One of their most popular songs being, “Come together”, has streamed the most on any platform in the UK and the US. Their most popular album being “Abbey Road”, which became one of the most iconic pictures of all time.

“The Beatles are the best band of all-time, ” Said junior Nick Seifert about his opinion about boy bands past and present.

The New kids on the block came out in the 1970’s as the next big thing. Based out of Boston Massachusetts, this boy band consists of members, brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood and quickly topped charts with their first single “Be my girl”. Still performing to present day NKOTB continues to release songs. their most recent album being “10”. New kids on the block is worth more than $20 million.

“New kids on the block is my stuff, man” said Brady Rasmussen when asked about his opinion on the old boy band.

In the 80’s and 90’s a revolutionary new band came out, The Backstreet Boys. Every girl was in love with their soft voices and the way they dressed. These boys were a quick jump to the hip-hop pop era of modern music. Their biggest hit was “Show me the meaning of being lonely” which came out in a later year, 1999, which shows this band had a huge impact on not only the 80’s but even to present day.

“They were all so cute” said sophomore Tess Schoenborn, “i wish i was able to go to one of their concerts because i bet they were so good”

In the 2000’s a new type of group came out. The jonas brothers. They even had their own TV show about just how they were brothers. The band grew up together, lived together and won ladies hearts together. They didn’t last very long though, they only had a few big hits such as, “Burnin’ up” and “love bugs” a lot of their songs are forgotten by everyone. The band split up in October of 2013 and member Nick Jonas became a very successful solo performer.

“Nick jonas is so hot”, replied junior Kayla D, “I’m glad he went solo”

The band in this article that everyone should know at this point is One Direction. These boys have grown up pretty quickly. They went from having secret crushes (you don’t know you’re beautiful) to referring to one night stands, (The best night ever) these boys are still finding a way to steal our girls hearts. Although they have lost founding member Louis Tomlinson, the band continues to crank out top hits.

Of all the boy bands listed in this article they all have one thing in common, they all find ways to steal our girls hearts. Something about boy bands is just intriguing.
