Starbucks’ secret menu gains popularity
November 25, 2013
Starbucks now has a secret menu that everyone seems to be craving. This is an online menu with combinations that are unimaginable for frappuccinos, drinks, sizes, teas and deals. It almost seems like there is an endless amount of recipes. Visit www.starbuckssecretmenu.net to see the craze.
The Starbucks secret menu has many things to offer which includes secret sizes. The menu shares that there is a size called trenta. Trenta is the biggest size available and it holds 31 ounces. That size is only for iced drinks and only $0.50 more than venti. Also there is a secret size called short. You can order a tall, grande, venti, but also get a less expensive drink called the short.
Sophomore Alex Knapp said, “I don’t go to Starbucks very often, but once in a while I do especially before school. I did hear about the secret menu from my friend which was nice because I can’t drink a lot of coffee without feeling sick so when I heard about the short size I was very pleased.”
For all of the tea lovers, there are eight teas on the secret menu that are not advertised on the regular menu. These include Pumpkin Spice Choco-Chai, Chapple Tea Latte, Peach Ring Tea, London Fog, Strawberry Lemonade Tea, Berry Hibiscus Passion Tea, Poor Man’s Chai Latte and Apple Juice Orange Blossom.
Senior Caroline Mercer, employee at Starbucks said, “I really like trying some of the combinations people come up with. They can be really interesting, and it’s fun to make some weird stuff when it’s not busy at work.”
With the great, different choices this secret menu is offering, Starbucks sure seems to be the hot spot. Lots of highschoolers go there right after school or adults on their way to and from work. Even if the employee doesn’t know exactly how to make the drink, if customers bring in the recipe they can make the unique request.
Mercer also said, “It’s special recipes for drinks that aren’t actually on the menu. For example, people ask for Cotton Candy Frappuccinos a lot, but it’s not actually a menu item. After a while, most baristas start to understand what these things mean, like how the cotton candy frappuccino is actually just a Vanilla Bean with a pump of raspberry syrup.”
The Starbucks secret menu is something coffee lovers should check out. Make sure to bring in the recipe incase the employee doesn’t know of the drink. The menu is easy to use and easy to access. Just type Starbucks secret menu in on Google and there it is. This menu seems to have a unique drink to please almost anyone.

This article caught my attention because I have heard of the secret menu, but haven’t tried it before or knew if it was a real thing. The article is very informative on the topic and gives us a good idea of what the secret menu has in store.

This article caught my attention because I’ve only ever heard rumors about the secret menu. You did a really nice job of keeping the tone lighthearted and fun to go along with the topic! You also picked great sources, it was nice to get a quote from someone who works at Starbucks not just teenagers who want an $8 “coffee” drink.

This article is interesting and it caught my attention. I didn’t know of a starbucks secret menu. The article is filled with many great facts. If anything were to be improved, more quotes would be a good thing to add.

This article fits lifestyle perfectly, but in some parts biases are present. With two of the three links in the in the intro, the author should consider moving at least one link to a body paragraph. This may reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed by links in the article.

Whenever there is mention of a secret, I feel the need to find out what it is, so the headline really pulled me in. However, there does not need to be the same website linked twice as is done in the first paragraph, choosing one or the other is sufficient.

This article makes me want to try the secret menu, the wording makes it very appealing even for non-coffee lovers. Since Starbucks is so close to the highschool, this is a very relevant, and even somewhat helpful, story to read.

I have never tried any of the secret menu drinks, but after reading this article I am super interested in trying them. I never knew half of these drinks even excised. I am also curios to see how many Starbucks employees actually know what these drinks are.

This article caught my attention because I think we all want to know what is on the secret menu. This article is very informative and has good quotes. One thing that might have been a good idea is ask more people there opinion and get the most popular or most liked drinks on their secret menu.

I really like this article, it’s relevant to me because I go to Starbucks often. I knew about the secret menu but I didn’t know where to find it or what was on it. The article grabbed my attention because it was about something that related to me and many other students at the SAHS. Great story covering an interesting topic!

Very interesting article. I had no idea Starbucks had a secret menu so this is news to me. Besides being in need of a few more quotes, this article is very informative and attention grabbing.

Good article and very informative! But you could’ve given more customer opinions in quotes to see what it’s like.

I love this topic because i learned something new! It caught my eye due to the headline and that is what got my interest. The article is good, although its very wordy and “fact filled”. Which is not bad, but it’s an article that could have a little more fun with. The quotes were great and I thought it was good to have a quote from an actual Starbucks employee.

The topic is really interesting and I like the facts and quotes. But maybe you can add more of some sort of transitions throughout the article.
