The Oscars, Showcasing 2015’s Finest Films

2015 was a year of acclaimed film, with many awaited films making it to the silver screen. From the Revenant to The Martian, films shook theaters and broke records for months on end, with critical approval from audiences and reviewers alike. The voting committee has released the nominees on This Site , for the public to view. Comparing the films in each category, the selection of films are all in close running, due to the compiled films are highly acclaimed and star award winning actors. One of the actors who, while highly revered, has not won an Oscar yet. As many may know, his name is Leonardo DiCaprio, known for his roles in Fight Club, Inception, The Revenant, and many other films. Many fans await February 28th hoping that Dicaprio receives (as his fans would define it,) his long deserved award. While this fact stands, there are many other actors who have also done fantastic work in their films.
Within the most acclaimed films have reached Best Picture, with a split tie between two genres, Action and Drama, and in some of the selections, a blend of both. The Films being “The Big Short”, “Bridge of Spies”, “Brooklyn”, “Mad Max:Fury Road”, “The Martian”, “The Revenant”, “Room”, and “Spotlight”.
Two of the actors from the Best Picture category are included in the “Actor in a Leading Role” Category, being Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon for their acting in The Revenant and The Martian. The other three slots are held by other Drama genre films.
Saorise Ronan in her role in “Brooklyn”, is the only “Actress in a Leading Role” whose film was in the “Best Picture Category”, the other films, like the previous, being Drama genre films.
The “Actor in a Supporting Role” Category is filled with actors whose roles were in “Best Picture” films, being Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Mark Ruffalo, and Mark Rylance.
“Actress in a Supporting Role” had Rachel McAdams in her role in “Spotlight”, for Best Picture.
The “Animated Feature Film” Category was home to many creative wonders, such as “Inside Out”, “Anomalisa”, and many others. These films are known for their use of creative films.
in 2015, films had exceeded expectations, from the new Star Wars, to surprising successes of lesser known films, 2016 looks to be an even more promising year.
