Employees prepare a pizza at Quickfire Pizza. Sophomore Elliot Weisberg said, “It’s very good pizza, made right in front of you so you know it is fresh. You can choose your exact toppings and sauces so it is more personal.”

Stepping into local downtown pizza shop Quickfire Pizza, the smell and warmth of fresh baking pizza is prominent from the wood stove. This whole wonderful experience is now available from your very own home.

Quickfire Pizza started to offer delivery services this January, delivering pizzas to the Stillwater area. Delivery charge is only $3 and the service will be offered until March as a trial period.

“It was scary for us to pull the trigger on delivery, but we were getting enough requests for it that I couldn’t say no any longer,” said Quickfire owner Ryan Lettner. “I have placed a March deadline on it, but in reality we are going to continue it as long as the oven can keep up. We will take a break for the tourist season and then crank it up again after the fall tourist season. We would love to offer it all year, however we just don’t have the oven space during the summer months.”

Quickfire Pizza opened its doors fall of 2012, and has become a popular dining site for many Stillwater residents. Quickfire offers small, reasonably priced pizzas that are prepared and cooked in front of customers in the wood-fired ovens, all under six minutes. They serve rustic and classic Neapolitan pizzas, as well as wacky specialty pizzas such as Cuban, cajun, macaroni and cheese and Thai pizzas.

Quickfire will also be announcing a new specialty pizza, partnering up with an unannounced downtown restaurant. Lettner explained, “We are also about to unveil a new pizza that is a collaboration with another very popular restaurant downtown. We have been working on it secretly for about a year, so I am excited that it is about to become reality.”

“Ten years ago, I was operating a small remodeling business, I never thought I would be running a gourmet pizza shop in Stillwater,” Lettner explained. “We have accomplished a lot in a few years and made a lot of friends in a short time. We wouldn’t still be here having all this fun if it weren’t for our regulars, we thank them for all the frequent visits.”

And Lettner has many to thank. Quickfire has quickly become a favorite among many SAHS students.

Junior Wyatt Miller explained, “The wood-fired oven creates an amazing, soft yet crunchy feeling to the crust. The specialty pizzas are creative and delicious.”

Sophomore Elliot Weisberg added, “It’s very good pizza, made right in front of you so you know it is fresh. You can choose your exact toppings and sauces so it is more personal.”

Despite this new delivery service, people still love Quickfire for its wonderful ambiance inside the shop.

Miller explained, “The atmosphere inside is really warm and cozy. You just feel at home.” Lettner and the people at Quickfire are only doing more to heighten this sense of homeliness. Lettner explained, “We have decided to bring in some board games, card games and fun trivia games for people to play while they are here.We would love to see people hanging out in the restaurant.”
