AI is going to help the future immensely. It will help with healthcare, job crisis and teach students how to use it in more ethical ways, along with other daily activities that can eventually be made easier, as long as people can be better understanding of it rather than be intimidated by how it affects us.
AI has been around for years and people just may have not noticed the implications of it and where it has been used in the past. AI is not as scary as it may seem, it just has to be used in the appropriate ways. If people can understand how it works they can better understand it rather then be intimidated by it. AI has a natural language processor that is able to make text more human-like to make it more relatable. It tries to add in emotion to seem more human.
If people can find useful ways then it can be a very helpful and fortunate tool that could solve many problems, especially as technology advances.
Along with technology advancing, healthcare is also. AI can help with the digonsing of a patient by being able to analyze MRI’s, X-Rays and other scans. This can help move the process along faster and make it more accurate diagnosis. It could also help with identifying certain drugs and what they can be useful for and not.
“These examples showcase the versatility of AI technologies, each contributing to various applications and industries, reshaping the way we interact with and leverage technology in our daily lives,” Los Angeles Pacific University said in 2023.
In Nov. 2019, the unemployment rate was 3.6%. April, 2020 it got up to a record high of 14.8%. It eventually got back down to 3.6% in May, 2022, but has started to go back up slowly every month since and is currently at 4.1% as of October. AI can help with replacing some jobs that a human can’t necessarily do. This way tasks can get done more efficiently and effectively and employers do not have to pay for another person for the work. Overall, it is just more useful.
“There will be certain jobs. I know people already who work in businesses, generating mailing letters, generating communications. Can write pieces that are needed need to be written, where they’ll use AI to generate kind of the backbone of what their document will be. And then they go through and either clean it up, fix grammatical errors, fix make it personalized, but they will use it to instead of having to write three pages of stuff from scratch,” Teachout said.
Not only can adults be using AI more and more, but students will as well. Many have already used the Chat GPT to write papers for them, get answers to math questions, and so much more. Even some teachers have started to show students how to use it in a smart way such as Mr. Taft.
“In my English class, he asked us to use AI to, like, make up a story and, like, ask AI to make a story for us, just so we could, like, learn about AI,” sophomore Zoe Klein said.
Not only did Taft take part in AI lessons but many other English classes did as well, all doing it in their own way of teaching students how to use it is smarter and how to use it as a resource and not a cheat.
While AI has its effects like cheating, taking away from the creativity from the world. I feel as though it can be more helpful in the long run rather than not. As technology grows so does our understanding of it, therefore we as humans have to be able to adapt to be able to understand how it works and rather than be scared and try to avoid it.
