Cates Eliasen, online political editor, loves writing, music, and science. She plays Irish guitar and spends her free time with her little sister and her dogs. Cates’ greatest skills are licking her elbow and always crying when the dog dies in movies.

Parr says, "Anthony was the first short-term student to come to Stillwater in many years. It was so much fun to have him here." Brassart was able to explore Stillwater and other places in Minnesota with his host family.

Brassart experiences new country through musical experiences

Brassart spent a lot of time in both the band room and the back band room because of his host family's involvement with the music program and his close friendship with many of the band students. Parr says, " There is also the friendship that forms and that personal connection is why I continue to offer the travel and exchange opportunities."

Because of the positive experience Brassart brought to Stillwater, he is scheduled to be featured on the upcoming French trip. Parr says, "I look forward to meeting him in Paris in the summer of 2018, when we travel as a group to France. We have already made plans to meet for dinner at least once."

Brassart was very excited to come the U.S. and practice his English. He says, "I studied English for like, ten years and I prepared for my trip for like four months."
