Anderson completes a swing. Golf has allowed him many opportunities for success and memories. My most memorable experience was playing in the state tournament last year and placing 5th overall, Anderson says.

Anderson focuses as he takes a put. Competition is valued on the golf team and Anderson adds to that spirit. Parker and I are really competitive so we are always trying to beat each other which makes both of our games better, junior Cole Janke says.

Anderson looking on as he finishes a swing. Anderson leads the team as a captain, on and off the course. People on the team look up to you and sometimes you have to lead practices that set up the team for success, Anderson says.

Sommermeyer and host brother junior Parker Anderson pose for a picture before the first day of school. Sommermeyer says, “A super big experience for me was going to Mexico and San Francisco. I went to Mexico with my whole family, except that one of my host brothers had to stay in college. It was great. And I went to San Francisco with my host mom. Another big experience for me was practicing and making the lacrosse team. A very good friend of mine, Haden, helped me from knowing nothing about lacrosse to being a lacrosse varsity player! All this work, and finally what paid off, was a very big experience.”
