Fake news

                                                                           Hannah Hilmanowske.

Is print media becoming a lost cause to this society or is internet sites such as Twitter,Facebook and Instagram taking over the worlds news.

Many people have little to no time anymore for reading the paper , our society is known to always have a phone or some type of internet device on hand making it easily accessible for internet . Most visited are sites like twitter which can easily be sabotaged by fake news. The real  question is what the new generation prefers since they will be delivering the news in the future.

1st Amendment

False news is illegal under the 1st amendment although your opinion is covered coming out with false facts and quotes is no longer covered under our rights.

Addressing the problem

Teacher Mrs. Hanson prefers news sources such as fox , good morning America and a few other world news sources claiming “They won’t report news that is not reliable”.One can say this but on social media sites information can be changed at any time making it an unreliable source.

What makes news real?

Many people rely on what is brought to their  electronic devices, such as Facebook “I use Facebook to see what is shared on my timeline, if I think it’s interesting I’ll read more on it” states Mrs. Weese. As regular citizens we are automatically accustomed to thinking we are getting the correct information. But facts show this can be highly incorrect showing over  20 percent facebook news can be false.

Warning signs

A simple warning sign of a false news site includes something that can be changed such as Wikipedia if people can change the information there can be a 50 percent more likely chance of a false source.Another sign is if it’s a bazar statement with no resources, resources are the key part in a real news story.

Conclusion

At the end of the day always make sure you are using a reliable news source. There can be many misleading sites to warn yourself away from.
