As someone is driving by a field of fresh peppermint or hiking through a pine forest and they breathing deeply they are experiencing the soul-soothing power of essential oils.

Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the roots, flowers, seeds and other parts of the plants. These powerful plant extracts are people’s path to a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.

Young Living Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils is one of the more popular brands being used by many people around us.

“I’ve had migraines since I was eleven. As I got older, they became progressively worse. Since my mom had gotten into Young Living essential oils, and I had heard that they were good for migraines, I tried a few,” sophomore Lucy Vogeli said.

If someone is suffering from a severe headache one of the easiest ways to solve it is to rub peppermint essential oil on their forehead near the scalp line and it will start to relieve it.

“I was in shock at how powerful and effective it was,” added Vogeli.

Young Living has recently released a KidScents Oil Collection. It is a comprehensive kit that addresses the most common concerns of childhood. This kit includes six mild essential oil blends, formulated especially for children.

Reported on Young Living’s website, “The primary benefits are it helps children stay on task, soothes sensitive skin, supports healthy skin, calms the body, uplifts the senses and overall relaxes the mind and body.”

There are essential oils for everything: home, wellness, beauty and balance. From cooking and cleaning to pet care and home remedies, essential oils provide many alternatives to harsh chemical products. Essential oil-infused multivitamins and nutrition solutions empower people to meet their wellness goals the natural way. Skin care, bath, and body products are infused with natural essential oils instead of harmful chemicals allowing people to naturally radiate their beauty.

Essential oils easily incorporate into your daily routine to help you find life balance and inner serenity.

“The basic philosophical behind essential oils is that all the plants on our planet have the essential nutrients to keep us healthy,” yearbook adviser Laurie Hansen said.

Hansen was introduced to essential oils by her neighbor.

“The woman that watches my dogs invited me to come to see a seminar,” Hansen explained. “She told this really cool story on how she cured her own cancer with the use of them and now is selling oils to others.”

When it comes to choosing an essential oil to use there is a wide variety available. For example, ‘Citrus Fresh’ is a relaxing, calming blend that is rich in the antioxidant D-Limonene. ‘Stress Away’ reduces mental rigidity and restores equilibrium. ‘Peppermint’ soothes digestion and also restores digestive efficiency. ‘Panaway’ is used for massage-soothing and the warming of muscles after exercise. All essential oils all have something in common and that is providing health benefits.

“I tried peppermint oil first cause I had heartburn for 25 years and it was gone within 4 days by drinking peppermint in my tea,” said Hansen.

The three most common way to use essentials oils are to apply, inhale or diffuse and ingest.

People will apply the oil to an affected area such as bottoms of their feet, tempest, or the back of their neck. Some people might use essential oils in the bath by adding three to eight drops to the tub. If someone wanted to ingest essential oils they could blend it with tea or honey water.

Young Living is the largest distiller of Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils in the world. Each one of their oils is guided in natural healing. If someone is interested in fulfilling a healthier and more natural lifestyle essential oils is right up their alley.
