Two Twins Together
March 10, 2015
In the United states approximately three out of every one hundred live births are twins. This makes it a relatively rare occurrence. Most twins tend to have a connection other siblings might not be able to understand. This only makes the phenomenon more intriguing.
Christina and Genna Bartingale were born on May 6th, 1997. Since that day they have grown up together side by side as you would expect two twins to do, but as time went on they grew into their own people. Along with that their interests began to diverge as well. Despite this, Genna and Christina were able to keep their bond as twin sisters tight.
Olivia Braun, Christina’s friend explains, “You have those siblings that are always together or don’t want anything to do with each other , I think for twins more so they like being around each other”.
There is more to twins then sharing a similar face in this case, or a common birth date. Although, Genna and Christina have never been confirmed as identical twins they still look very similar in appearance, but the similarities don’t end at appearance itself. they both share similar mannerisms and gestures.
Olivia states, “They get along very well, and I think they enjoy eachothers company, but they don’t have as many mutual friends … In that way they are not together as much as you’d suspect them to be”.
Despite not being together all the time because of different social groups they still share some common interests such as sports and band, and despite playing different sports and instruments they enjoy being active.
Christina says, “As we got older I took up soccer and Genna took up tennis; we split. Which is probably good so we are together in everything else”.
Sports and social groups are not the only difference though. They have developed different tastes in clothes and leisure, as well as sociability.
Genna says, “Christina is more extroverted and I am more introverted”.
This however does not seem to diffuse any bit of the connection Genna and Christina have. This definitely shows how strong their relationship is as twins as Olivia’s account proceeds.
Being twins however does not promise everything to be perfect between the two. Christina and Genna are still siblings, and siblings tend to get into disputes like most other brothers and sisters do.
Linder Wendt explains, “There are disputes every once in a while, but nothing ever major” he also says, “I’ve never seen them fight too aggressively”.
Genna and Christina are twins. They have similar and dissimilar interests. Some mutual and different friends, but that does not seem to change that they will have a connection that would be difficult for others who don’t have a twin to understand and as rare as these special kinds of siblings come these two twins are a pair to meet.
