Having a bucketlist motivates to achieve goals
Bucket lists are a collection of goals, dreams and aspirations that someone would like to accomplish during their lifetime. Most people have a mental list of things they want to conquer in life, however do not give it a formal label. If a person is looking for a way to keep track of their objectives, to take steps to achieve them and to boost the memorable experiences in their life then a bucket list is just the thing they need.
Creating a bucket list can focus people’s interests, provide structure, and motivate others to step out of the box. It can expand an individual’s mind to new possibilities and make their dreams come to reality. Also, when people have intent and write their goals down they become more tangible. Here are a few ideas to get someone started on creating their own, give blood next time the American Red Cross association comes around, walk across Abbey Road or donate to “Aid for Africa”.
Age should not stop one from creating or accomplishing a bucket list. It is not just for teenagers, adults can be a part of the fun too.
Math teacher Pete Hamilton said “I would like to run with bulls sometime even though it’s selfish because I could get impaled, it is just something I genuinely want to do. Also, I want to float down the Mississippi river with my family.”
The items on your list do not have to be extravagant. They can be quite simple and unique.
Assistant Principal Aaron Drevlow explained, “Instead of going on a foreign adventure there are many things you can do in Stillwater that are cheap, straightforward, short and effective. An activity like that is a microadventure. I prefer those, but one thing on my bucketlist is to run a 100 mile race.”
Not everybody believes in having a bucket list.
Junior Sam Luloff explained, “I don’t plan what I want to do, I do what I want to do.”
People who construct a list of goals they want to achieve have more of a fulfilling life than others who do not.
Luloff said, “I feel like people who do not have a bucket list their in life will start to decline once they hit the age thirty because each day they will wake up and do the exact same thing. However some people accept that, like me.”
A bucket list is an inspiring way to overcome fears and it gives people and overwhelming sense of accomplishment. Do not be ashamed of having a buckletlist, own up to it and complete those tasks.
