Jared Dean, Broadcasting Editor-In-Chief

Jared is the Broadcast Eic for the 2016-2017 year. Dean was a news anchor for his junior year and is looking forward to another great year on the broadcast team. He enjoys pizza, watching/talking about sports, Netflix, and hanging out with his friends. He is looking to pursue broadcast journalism in college to achieve his dream of being a sports anchor on ESPN.

Allan was nominated for Minnesota's Mr. Soccer award this year as well as being named on the All-State soccer team. He was just one of a few different Stillwater players to be named on the All-State team.

Stillwater was ranked first going in the state and seventeenth in the country for the 2016 season. Their success was thanks to the leadership of the captains as well as a common goal of winning the state title.

The boys soccer team finished with a record of 26-0 and a state championship. They fought hard and beat Wayzata in the championship with a score of 2-0. “Some of these kids may have played in games with similar stakes maybe of higher quality. But they don’t have the atmosphere that a state final is going to have. Every kid wants to play in front of his friends and family.” Smothers says.

Allan has been playing varsity soccer under coach Smothers for four years. His versatility of play is one of the reasons why he has had so much success in the soccer program. Smothers adds, “Patrick is a four year starter on varsity. His is a little different in how he leads the team he is more emotional and more of a physical presence on the field. But one thing we love about him is his flexibility he’s an athletic player who can fill a lot of different roles for us.”
