To say Disney’s “Frozen 2” ironically warms your heart would be an understatement. People of all ages flooded into theaters as the well-awaited ‘Frozen 2’ was released Nov. 22, six years after the original ‘Frozen’ came out in 2013. This endearing sequel emphasizes togetherness, sisterhood and love. The expectations were high for this sequel and many agreed they were definitely met.

Junior Mara Doe explained the film stirred up many emotions. Many admitted to tearing up.

‘Into the Unknown’

Iconic sisters Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) are back for round two in the animated film “Frozen 2”, dominating theaters once again. The movie begins, picking up where the original ‘Frozen’ left off with Elsa ruling her home kingdom of Arendelle. While Elsa embraces her magical powers and wears the crown, Anna spends time with her lover Kristoff (Johnathan Groff), his reindeer Sven and snowman sidekick Olaf (Josh Gad). Everything seems to be running smoothly and safely, until Elsa performs ‘Into the Unknown’, in response to an unknown voice she continues to hear over and over, slowly driving her insane. The sisters, accompanied with Kristoff, Sven and Olaf venture off into the enchanted and forbidden forest, beginning their epic adventure.

It is never surprising when Disney creates a unique and well-made plot line. With Elsa dedicated to finding the mysterious voice, Kirstoff desperately yearning to propose to Anna and Olaf’s never-ending jokes, the adventure taken by the beloved characters is warmhearted and comical.

“The adventure taken in the film kept me on the edge of my seat. Although I could predict what was going to happen sometimes, the directors and film makers did an outstanding job,” junior Meghan O’Hara said.

Portraying Norway

Norway is known for beautiful winters and mild summers making the stunning country the perfect location for the ‘Frozen’ films. The portrayal of a Norwegian kingdom is done outstandingly as the details and Norwegian aspects stand-out to the viewer. The gorgeous animated nature scenes, inspired by Norway, enhance the adventure taken by the characters as the animations depict the astonishing fall features.

Junior Maleah Mckinley prefers the unique animations, specifically the nature scenes as she enjoys the Norwegian factors and details Disney included in the film.

The voice-acting plays a big part of the tone and feel of the individual scenes. ‘Frozen 2’ introduced us with new characters, increasing the Norwegian feel with accents, looks and clothes. The cultural Norwegian clothes worn by the characters are one major aspect Disney, once again, nailed. The well-designed Norwegian dresses and outfits and Norwegian personalities portrayed by the characters not only enhance the movie experience, but compliment the storytelling as well.

‘Frozen 2’ shocked audiences all over the world as the emotion, thrill and feeling of closeness pulled the whole story together. This animated film is definitely another Disney success.

“‘Frozen 2’ was definitely an interesting movie, but if I had to choose one word it would have to be memorable. I mean, it was the sequel to ‘Frozen’ and ‘Frozen’ was memorable. So, I feel like any prequel or sequel of  ‘Frozen’ will be memorable and well done,” Mckinley added.

‘Frozen 2’ is certainly one of the best movies this year. The way the story highlights features from the first movie, but makes ‘Frozen 2’ just as unique as the first one adds depth into the story and adventure taken by the characters. This is a must see movie of 2019.
