‘Stranger Things’ is a show on Netflix that gained mainstream popularity because of its great story telling. It was renewed for its forth season Sept. 30.

With this new season of “Stranger Things“, fans are wondering if it is going to be well thought out or just a continuation of a popular show for the sake of renewing it. The past few seasons have been great, and the season four teaser definitely supports the hype. “Stranger Things” is a very popular series on Netflix that first came out on July 16, 2016. “Stranger Things” has had three seasons and has just been renewed for its fourth season in September. The new season four teaser trailer came out Sept. 30 and it has prompted a lot of speculation.

“Most series have a limited run that would be about three to five seasons, beyond that, they start running out of fresh ideas. We will see about season four,” Deb Drew, video production teacher, said.

With a 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, almost everyone agrees the storytelling of the series is magical. Every episode they somehow bring something fresh, whether that is character development or advancement of the plot.

“Stranger Things” specifically has a good ability to draw you in at the end of the episode and leave on a cliffhanger making you want to watch the next episode. I just watched episode after episode because it just leaves you like wondering what’s gonna happen so you almost have to watch the next one,” senior Toby Weiss said.

One of the things that makes “Stranger Things” such a good show is its cast. The cast brings realism and chemistry to the series by bringing the events within the show down to earth.

“They also really hit a good tone on the nostalgia factor and kind of combining a Steven Spielberg with Stephen King”

Drew explains, the chemistry between the actors and the age of the actors, allows viewers to grow with the actors like friends.

“Stranger Things” has definitely nailed the atmosphere and time for these events to take place. Picking the 1980s was genius, having some tech like landlines, but not cell phones really makes you feel that the main characters are in this alone.

“They also really hit a good tone on the nostalgia factor and kind of combining a Steven Spielberg with Stephen King,” Michael Teachout, Technology and Innovation Coach, said.

The mystery that they try to maintain is what makes any show in general good. There is something satisfying when one get bits and pieces of the story and in the end, they all come together into the main plot. “Stranger Things” does this very well.

“There is a lot of mystery like we didn’t know what the Demogorgon was, we didn’t know if Will was dead or not, or where he was, we didn’t know what the government organization was, and that’s what makes it so interesting,” junior Cooper McCurdy said.

With season four scheduled for a mid to late 2021 release date fans are waiting for the big reveal. Now with the teaser out, new fan theories are going around so anything could be possible. So far the series is absolutely great definitely a 9.5 out of 10, but we will have to see if season four will live up to the hype.
