‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’ creates high expectations

The film ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’ comes out Nov. 22. The film is based on the old children’s show ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’, staring Fred Rogers. Tom Hanks will play the part of Mr. Rogers.

Tom Hanks is starring in the new film “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” as the legendary Fred Rogers. The movie opens Nov. 22. This movie is highly anticipated due to its nostalgia and the popularity of the original children’s program.
“I think it will portray [Mr. Rogers] in a good way. I don’t know if there are any scandals behind Mr. Rogers…but I have only heard positive things,” Sara Neitz, Avid teacher and coordinator, said.
The original show is famous for teaching kids life lessons. Mr. Rogers’ teachings impacted children in many positive ways. He taught children to talk about their feelings and that all their feelings were okay. He made all issues easier for kids to understand.
Junior Emma Kindler explained that Mr. Rogers offered moral values that would stick with her throughout her childhood. She “learned a lot” from him.
Mr. Rogers was affiliated with children’s entertainment for over 30 years. He has left a positive effect on adults who watched the original show growing up.

“I had watched him in kindergarten almost every single day, and as an adult I would turn his show on to learn a lesson or two because I think he really appreciated everyone for their differences,” Neitz added.
Hanks in the role of Rogers has drawn a lot of excitement and eagerness for the movie. Many predict this veteran actor will live up to many expectations and the legacy of Mr. Rogers within the role.
“Tom Hanks is in like five of my top ten favorite movies, so I’m sure he will be amazing,” junior Donovan Roddy said.
Generations of people were shocked to hear about Mr. Rogers’ death in 2003. His death broke the hearts of millions across the world.
Neitz explained how devastated she was to hear the death of Fred Rogers, “I was so sad because I think he was a great guy and did a lot for children and really just the education of how to be a good person.”
Many people were excited when they heard this movie was being made. Upon hearing about about the film, many were interested to see if the movie will live up to the memories they had from their childhood.
“I was really intrigued when I found out the film because I did not know if it would live up to the expectations or the Mr. Rogers I always watched as a kid,” Kindler said.
The hype for this movie is like nothing else. This is due to the story of the movie and the popularity of Mr. Rogers. Many expect a near perfect film.
“I’m expecting that the movie will be like a dive into Mr. Rogers’ life. Also, to have Tom Hanks play the character, just like how Mr. Rogers was as a person with a charming personality and just an overall good guy,” Roddy added.
This film has caught the eye of many people. These people may want to see the film.
When asked if he would see the movie, Roddy explained that he thought that the concept of the movie seems cool and that he would check it out.
“I can’t wait to see the movie, I think Tom Hanks would be a great Mr. Rogers,” Neitz added.

I love how you connected the movie to the TV show comparing the two. The amount of facts you have with your story blew me away every couple sentences its like their is a new facts.
