‘Love Lies’ by Khalid and Normani
April 12, 2018
From the soundtrack of a new movie, “Love, Simon”, comes Khalid’s newest single with Fifth Harmony member, Normani. “Love Lies” is a very R&B/soul song and is Normani’s first single for her solo debut. Some of the other songs on the movie’s soundtrack include songs by Troye Sivan, The 1975, Jack Antonoff, Alfred Smith, etc.
Khalid and Normani’s voices blend so well together to make a song that sounded like their was clear chemistry between the voices. The song is already on so many charts. It is number 11 on Spotify’s United States Top 50. It has also been on the Billboard Top 100 since it came out, it’s peak position was number 43.
The music video for the song was dropped two days after the song was out. As Khalid’s verse starts, he is standing at a valet parking desk then Normani steps out of a car and walks into the hotel. From inside the elevator to inside the hotel room, her choreography is like the choreography she has done with her group, Fifth Harmony. It was said that while doing her choreography, in the middle of scenes they had to keep re-pinning it and readjusting it so it wouldn’t fall apart. They said it was because of how much she was putting herself into the dance.
