Alternative Copy Story by Michael Vanlieshout

October is the season of horror, Halloween and spooky memes.  A survey of 100 students finds out what their favorite spooky movies are. Out of the choices given, IT (2017) was the all time favorite with ‘The Conjuring 2’, coming in second. Senior Fiona Mattson likes how horror movies keep her on the edge of her seat.

I like that the author included a very descriptive visual but also included quotes from students about the topic. The placement of the pie chart was creative and the background really ties into the halloween theme. I also like how you included a way to watch the trailer to IT.

The pie chart over the pumpkin could be done a little different but I like the fonts and statistics that you brought into your project. The colors catch the eye and the quotes are well placed and easy to read.

I love The colors of the graphic. It really connects to the colors of October and Halloween. Also, I like That the other included two quotes.

This is sooo cute. I love the integration of the pie graph with the pumpkin. Awesome use of color variation and fun fonts. The headline is super cute (though not super descriptive, which is why the subhead is incredibly helpful)!

Really cool design and color palette! I like the quotes you used and the chart you used really tie everything together. Creative headline and use of color in the headline. Nutgraph/chatter is a little lacking and could be added to. I think this was a really great alternative copy and it was definitely my favorite this issue.

I really enjoyed the title as well as the color you picked. Also, I love the background because it really ties in with Halloween. The pumpkin pie chart was a clever idea. Overall, it is fun to look at. Good job!

I love this alternative copy!! It is extremely well made and eye catching. One thing that could have been changed to make the story more appealing visually would be to change the pumpkin or pie chart so that the two fit better together. It could also use a slightly more detailed nutgraph/chatter but other than that it is lovely!
