The end of the school year seems to the creeping up on teachers,
staff and students faster than they have expected. This year there
are a handful of teachers and staff members who will be retiring.
One staff member is Nancy Mendel, a outgoing and happy member
of the Stillwater Area High School Staff.

Mendel works in the printer room helping the teachers print countless
papers a day. Mendel prints off homework, tests, passes, and anything
that the teachers or other staff members need, Mendel is on the job.

"It is pretty mellow back here," said Mendel.

Mendel has been a staff member for about eight or nine years. Although her office space is a clam place she does have other interests. After she retires she plans on keeping busy and helping out with her new grandson.

"For the summer I like to garden. I want to take some bike rides and mini trips. I don’t know what I’m going to do for the winter time yet," said Mendel. "I have a new grand baby, so I will see him a lot."

Mendel mentioned that nothing crazy has really happened or stood out as a favorite memory, but will miss all the interactions with the teachers and other staff members. Mendel has made many friends with coworkers and will miss them, but plans on staying in touch.
