‘The Voice’ welcomes new judges to the show

NBC’s show, The Voice, may never be the same again. After season six, there will be different judges coming on board. CeeLo Green announced on Ellen that he will not be coming back for season seven due to felony charges.

The original four judges were Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green. Christina Aguilera left season four and returned during season five, then left again in season six. Christina recently announced her pregnancy during season six, Gwen Stefani recently signed on to The Voice to judge on season seven.

CeeLo Green, an ex-coach on The Voice, has been accused of sexually assaulting and giving a 33 year old women ecstasy while they were having dinner on July 13, 2012. CeeLo announced his departure.

“I am personally not a big fan of CeeLo. I think he makes the show weird with his outfits and he doesn’t ever win. I think the show will be better without him because he is not really the essential part of the show as much as like Blake and Adam are. I am glad that Usher replaced CeeLo for the last half of season six,” said junior Makenzie Strand.

NBC is unsure if the original Voice coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine would be back for Season seven. What NBC does know is that Pharrell Williams will join NBC’s The Voice next season in the fall of 2014.

“I like Pharrell and I’m hoping he will be a nice addition to the show. The funny people are always the best with this show. With people talking about Gwen coming on the show in the fall, I think that she will be a better fit than Christina. I am just glad that we have two original judges left on the show,” said sophomore Sara Stickler.

The voice was NBC’s best-rated show in 2012. It was ranked sixth, with more than 14 million viewers for the Oct. 3 episode.

“I definitely like The Voice more than American Idol because they created a cool way of having a singing show by having those chairs to turn around when the judges want them on their team. I also think that the judges Adam, Shakira, Usher and Blake are very entertaining judges to watch,” said junior Courtney Hegarty.

Viewers are eager to see what season seven will be like this fall.
